In downtown Danbury, Connecticut just off routes I-84 and 7 is the unique Danbury Railway Museum with ample parking, modest admission prices and good restaurants nearby. There in the beautifully restored 1903 railroad station one will find historically significant exhibits and model trains which fascinate children of all ages. Guides will take you through the original full sized railroad yard filled with over 50 locomotives and cars, some in operation and many having been carefully restored.
Ride the Railyard Locals which run every Saturday and Sunday from April through November and visit the operating turntable. Special events occur for Easter Bunny train rides, a Pumpkin Patch Ride at Halloween and Santa Trains before Christmas, in addition to other events held throughout the year. Make sure to visit the museum's popular gift shop filled with many railroad items for children and adults. For the whole family it will be a day of enjoyment and well spent!
